Denied an education as a girl and left to navigate adulthood without the ability to read or write, she discovers a local nonprofit offering literacy classes to women like her, revealing a whole new world. Bhakti is a testament to the quiet power of education and the extraordinary courage it takes to begin again.

Over the first eight days following landfall in Black River, residents begin the difficult process of recovery. What emerges is a portrait of resilience, hope, and a community determined to rebuild in the face of nature’s destruction.
